personality
Neal is a very heroic sort of person, much like his parents. Whil e he is physically strong, however, he isn't the brightest bulb in the box. Many a time he doesn't get how things are in the books and thinks that the best thing for him is to do the fighting. However, even though he doesn't understand things such as strategy he does know how to follow directions and he trusts in his friends and family. He doesn't underestimate the importance of strategy and thus, he will turn to those who are smarter to help him to help him when he is in need of strategy or knowledge.
Cheerful, most of the time, Neal is an optimist at heart. He believes that as long as they fight for what they believe in, they will win against any odds. He will try his very best to do everything he possibly can to win any fight he is in, especially when it involves something he believes in. This leads to a bit of stubborness, as he can beat a dead bush, and doesn't like to change his beliefs. He will if he must, but he will try to stick to what he knows most of all.
While he values strategy and the art of knowledge, Neal is a bit rash and has a bit of a temper. When he gets going, its hard to get him to not rush into a fight. This is partly due to while growing up feeling powerless to be able to save anyone, his parents, his sister, his nephew. He's a sensitive fellow and so if someone hits his trigger he'll end up running in half-cocked. Luckily, he usually can listen to reason but only if someone is being very persuasive and appeals to the things that matter the most to him.
Neal is a natural leader, despite the lack of brains in some areas. He is charismatic and people tend to want to follow him, either because they believe in what he does, or because he seems to be a confident man who is willing to stand up to anyone who stands in his way. He is kind, but if you get on his bad side, he will roar. His idealism knows no bounds, and he will fight for the world he envisions in his mind. Changing the past was his idea, because he believed in a world where their parents were all alive, and they lived happily ever after. That could only happen if one brought back the dead or changed the past. And so, he tasks his companions with figuring out how to do that.

history |
Being a Charming always meant that Baby Neal would be in trouble. His entire history was due to the high profile of his family, and their tendency to get themselves into trouble, probably due to the fact they would not lay down and roll over, they had the courage to fight for what they believed in and others always seemed to come to try to take their happy endings away. From the moment he was born, he was in trouble, taken away by the Wicked Witch and used in a time travel spell. Luckily, his parents and their friends and family saved him and brought him back home. However, it wasn't long after that when the tragedy, the apocolypse occurred, and Hades was ressurected, taking over the world. His parents and their friends and family fought a long and hard battle but no matter how hard they fought, they couldn't seem to defeat Hades. Neal grew up in an underground world, away from the war that his parents were fighting. However, he knew what was happening, and he knew that his parents were the leaders of the resistance against their new dictator. He was proud of them. He could never imagine better parents. As a teen, Neal struggled to try to join the fight, though his parents did not let him. He practiced his hand to hand combat every day, practiced with a sword, with a bow, and various other weapons trying to prove to his parents that he was ready to go out and fight. Finally, they allowed him on the battlefield. His first fight. He was excited until the killing happened. In the end, his father ended up taking a fatal blow in his place, protecting Neal from death. Of course, there was a heartfelt good-bye and Neal cried and became more determined, and focused on the battle more. They ended up having to retreat in that battle, and Neal hated it more than anything. He and his family mourned his father's passing for a long time, but the battle still raged on. Neal was a soldier like everyone else. It wasn't long before the war took the lives of his family, leaving on him and the others younger than him, as the older ones ended up dying in battle. Finally, Neal decided he would change everything. He was tired of losing and so instead of fighting Hades now, in the future, when he was at full power, Neal believed it was best to defeat Hades before he had the power he had, and defeat the God when he was first ressurected, when his power wasn't as overwhelming. |
